National Water Hygiene Scheme.
UK water companies require anyone working on ‘Restricted Operations’ to hold a valid National Water Hygiene (EUSR) registration.
Registrations are valid for three years. For continued access to ‘Restricted Operations’ training needs to be repeated prior to the date of expiry.
The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) recommend water companies carry out regular audits to ensure anyone working on ‘Restricted Operations’ holds a valid National Water Hygiene registration.

National Water Hygiene (E-Learning)
Course Information.
This training courses is self-guided learning and can be completed any time.
In order to complete the training candidates will need:
Laptop or tablet with speakers. (Mobile phones cannot be used.)
Internet browser (i.e. Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge. Note: Internet Explorer is not supported.)
Internet connection
Access to an email account (personal or business)
National Water Hygiene (E-Learning) can be completed in two hours and contains the following elements:
Health screening questionnaire.
Module 1: Preventing contamination
Module 2: The importance of water
Module 3: Water Is Food
Module 4: Water as a carrier of disease
Module 5: Restricted Operations
Module 6: Potential causes and consequences of contamination: Water Treatment and Storage
Module 7: Potential causes and consequences of contamination: Water Network
Module 8: Preventing Contamination
Module 9: Disinfection
Module 10: Ensuring Quality: Sampling and Audit
E-Assessment: 25-question multiple choice (pass rate 22/25)
Candidates must pass both the health screening and the assessment to receive their EUSR card.
A free re-sit is available if you fail the e-Assessment once (you may need to review the individual modules you initially failed).
If you fail your e-Assessment twice, you will need to re-book onto a trainer-led session.
